EPIC TBI Study: Big Implications for EMS (2019)

Dr. Daniel Spaite presented EPIC TBI Study: Big Implications for EMS at the 11th annual Southwest Trauma & Acute Care Symposium on Thursday, November 14, 2019. Excellence in Prehospital Care (EPIC) studied over 22,000 traumatic brain injuries since 2004 and implemented TBI evidence-based guidelines to 600 master trainers and over 11,000 EMS providers in the state of Arizona. Outcomes for TBI patients in Arizona has significantly improved due to implementation of the guidelines. Dr. Spaite is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Virginia Piper Endowed Research Chair of Emergency Medicine at the University of Arizona Tucson. He is also the Associate Director of the Arizona Emergency Medicine Research Center at the University of Arizona.
