2021 Course Information

Thank you for your support of the Arizona Trauma Association and the Advanced Practice Provider Workshop. Please note that STACS 2020 and the 2020 Advance Practice Provider workshop have been canceled, but, will resume in 2021.

This interactive workshop is designed for the seasoned and recently inducted trauma and critical care professional to enhance and support trauma and critical care practice. The program will include a series of concise and informative lectures coupled with hands-on procedural application stations for Residents, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants.

Topics in this workshop will cover:

  • Orthopedic Trauma
  • Neurological Injury
  • Resuscitation/Massive Transfusion
  • Facial Neck Trauma
  • Vasopressor Management
  • Pulmonary Critical Care
  • Radiological Review
  • Chest/Abdominal Trauma
  • Delayed Bowel Injury
  • Prehospital Management
  • Pediatric Trauma

Simulated hands-on learning sessions include:

  • Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma (FAST)
  • Central Line Placement
  • Wound Closure
  • Chest Tube Insertion
  • Pelvic Stabilization
  • Regional Anesthesia
  • External Ventricular Device Placement
  • Case Studies

As in past years, there will be an option forĀ  discounted registration for the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Workshop (for NPs/PAs/Residents) if you concurrently register/pay to attend the Southwest Trauma & Acute Care Symposium (STACS) in person.
